Y’all know, around here we spend a lot of time talking about plants, chickens, and whatever random thing decided to grow this week.
But today, we’re celebrating the dads.
And if you’ve been following our journey for any length of time, then you know that 1737 wouldn’t be what it is without Jordan.
Truth be told, this whole crazy adventure started because he wanted better for our family. He put some herbs in the dirt during the pandemic, and somewhere along the way, those few little plants turned into fruit trees, chickens, Bikini Bottom, Shady Pines Retirement Home, garden tours, classes, and a community that has become so much bigger than we ever imagined.
Most days, you’ll find him outside building something, planting something, fixing something, or trying to convince me that we have room for “just one more plant.”
(We all know how that usually turns out. 😂)
He’s the one teaching classes, harvesting pineapples, checking on the girls at Shady Pines, and reminding me that sometimes the best things in life take a little patience and a whole lot of love.
But more than any of that, he’s a husband and a dad.
And watching him love our family, love our kids, and pour into the dreams we’ve built together has been one of my greatest blessings.
Father’s Day isn’t just about gifts and cookouts. It’s about recognizing the men who show up day after day. The ones who work hard, sacrifice, teach, encourage, and love their families well.
So to all the fathers, grandfathers, bonus dads, uncles, and father figures out there…
Happy Father’s Day.
Thank you for the seeds you’re planting that may never show up in a harvest basket but will be seen in the lives of the people you love.
And to my favorite farmer, dreamer, teacher, and partner in all things homestead.
Happy Father’s Day, Babe. ❤️
Thank you for dreaming alongside me, for supporting every wild idea, and for helping turn this little backyard into a place filled with food, laughter, and memories.
And thank you for bringing us along for the ride.

Some families have traditions.
Some families have recipes.
Here at 1737, we’re thankful for the fathers who help us cultivate community and harvest home.
