Whew! Y’all… 1737 had the honor of setting up shop at our very first festival, Making It In Old Algiers, on May 31st. Let me just say, we had the absolute best time!
Now, if you’ve ever done a market or a festival, you already know—it’s a whole lot of prep, a little bit of chaos, and a whole lot of love. From packing up jars and herbs to triple-checking our signs and tablecloths, we were buzzing with excitement (and nerves!) leading up to the big day.
But once we got out there, whew chile… the love was REAL. The community showed up and showed out! Folks stopped by, asked questions, sampled our teas, smelled our seasoning blends, and most importantly—supported our little homestead hustle. Some of y’all shopped. Some just came to chat. Every single person who took the time to visit our tent you are appreciated more than you know. Truly. We felt it in our hearts.
There was something so special about being surrounded by other makers, dreamers, and doers—people who are making it in their own way, right here in New Orleans. Being part of that energy reminded us why we do this: to grow, to share, and to build something that feeds both the body and the soul.
If you made a purchase from us, thank you. If you asked a question, took a seed pack, told a friend, or just offered a kind smile, thank you. We see you, and we don’t take any of it for granted.
This was just the beginning for 1737 at festivals and pop-ups. We’ve got more coming up, so keep an eye out—we’ll be out here, herbs in hand and heart wide open.
From our homestead to yours,
With gratitude and joy,
The 1737 Urban Homestead Crew
