Growing Love: A Valentine’s Day in the Garden 💚

Valentine’s Day usually brings to mind roses, chocolates, and fancy dinners. And don’t get me wrong, we love all of that too. But here at 1737, we celebrate love a little differently.

We celebrate the love that grows.

The love that takes time.
The love that needs tending.
The love that feeds people.

Because truthfully? Gardening and love have a lot in common.

Love Starts With a Seed 🌱

Every garden begins with something small and hopeful, a seed pressed into the soil with the belief that something beautiful will grow.

Love is the same way.

It starts with intention.
With patience.
With care.

When Jordan first started growing food, it was because I got sick and we wanted to take better care of our health. What started as a few plants turned into a passion, then a mission, and now a community.

That’s the thing about planting seeds…
You never really know how far they’ll grow.

Tending What Matters

Gardens don’t grow overnight. And neither do relationships.

They need:

  • attention
  • nourishment
  • consistency
  • grace on the hard days

Some days are sunshine and fresh harvests.
Some days are pests, weeds, and unexpected storms.

But you keep showing up anyway.

Because love — real love — is built in the showing up.

Love Looks Like Feeding People 🍅🥬

Around here, love often looks like:

  • Sharing eggs from the coop
  • Sending friends home with herbs
  • Donating plants to community gardens
  • Teaching someone how to grow their first tomato

It’s the quiet, everyday acts of care that matter most.

And honestly? There is something incredibly romantic about feeding the people you love food that came from your own soil.

From soil… to soul.

Romanticizing the Little Things ✨

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be grand gestures.

It can look like:

  • Morning coffee in the garden
  • Harvesting herbs together for dinner
  • Planning what to plant this spring
  • Watching the chickens run around like tiny dinosaurs

Joy lives in the small moments.
Connection lives in the ordinary.

And those moments? They add up to a beautiful life.

Our Valentine’s Day Wish for You 💌

This Valentine’s Day, we hope you:

  • plant something new
  • cook something from scratch
  • share a meal with someone you love
  • spend a little time outside
  • nurture something that matters to you

Whether that’s a garden, a relationship, or a dream.

Because love grows where it’s nurtured.

Always.

With love from our garden to yours,
