As we gather around our tables this Thanksgiving, I can’t help but sit in a spirit of gratitude. Out here at 1737 Urban Homestead, the seasons teach us many things. They show us how to plant with intention. They also show us how to harvest with joy. Finally, they teach us how to rest when the time calls for it. And today, I’m reminded of just how blessed we truly are.
This year has been full of dirt-under-the-nails moments. There have been unexpected learning curves. We also experienced the sweetest victories, like that first ripe harvest or the hens laying steady. Watching something you planted with love finally take off is another sweet victory. Every little thing feels like a gift. And none of it would feel the same without the people who share this journey with us.
I’m grateful for the land that sustains us. The food nourishes us. I’m also thankful for the chance to grow, both in the garden and in life. I’m grateful for the quiet mornings spent checking on the hens. I appreciate the humbling moments when Mother Nature reminds me who’s really in charge. I’m thankful for every single harvest that shows up right on time.
But more than anything, I’m grateful for you. Thank you to every person who follows along and supports the homestead. Whether you ask questions, share stories, or simply cheer from the sidelines, your contribution is valued. You’re part of this soil, this work, this rhythm we’re building.
As you sit down with your loved ones today, I hope your heart is as full as your plate. I hope you take a moment to breathe. Take time to reflect. Give thanks for the small miracles that get overlooked in the day-to-day. Because those are the ones that matter most.
From our little homestead to your home, Happy Thanksgiving, Loves. May your day be abundant, peaceful, and wrapped in gratitude.
With love,
1737 Urban Homestead
